An entrepreneur takes his business to Silicon Valley thanks to the University's YUZZ program

The project of Miguel Ballestero, student of the UPNA, contributes to the improvement of the energy efficiency of elevators.

The student of Industrial Engineering of the Public University of Navarra (UPNA) Miguel Ballestero has been selected by the Center YUZZ of the University of Navarra to travel to Silicon Valley from October 29 to November 4 to meet companies that stand out in the field of entrepreneurship.

The jury of the YUZZ Navarra Center has chosen Miguel Ballestero for a project that contributes to improve the energy efficiency of elevators, which has allowed him to get a place to travel to the mecca of global innovation.

Also collaborating in this project are Fernando Saiz and Jaime Cires, with degrees in Business Administration from the University of Navarra, and the lawyer Manuel Rodrigo and the architects Pablo Vicente and Javier Senosiain, from the University of Navarra, as well as the industrial engineers Ignacio Imbuluzqueta and Sergio Garay, from the Public University of Navarra.

The trip to Silicon Valley will allow Miguel Ballestero and 42 other promising young people from the national technological environment to get to know the largest ecosystem of entrepreneurship and innovation in the world. They will visit companies of great international relevance such as Google, LinkedIn or Facebook and conferences in prestigious universities such as Berkeley or Stanford.

The young people will present their ideas to a jury made up of representatives from Banco Santander, CISE and collaborating entities of the YUZZ Program on November 6 at the Ciudad group Santander and the three best will receive a cash prize of 30,000, 20,000 and 10,000 euros respectively, which will enable them to accelerate their projects.

The program, which in this edition has had 41 YUZZ Centers in Spain and the participation of nearly 900 young entrepreneurs, has allowed the development of the ideas of the participants through a network of more than 200 professional experts, training business, counseling, personalized tutoring and a platform of work collaborative online.

The YUZZ initiative has the sponsorship of Banco Santander, through Santander Universities, and the partnership of the University of Navarra.
