Two professors from the University of Navarra receive an international award for their first architectural work.

Luis Suárez and Asier Santas received one of the Bauwelt 2011 awards for their project of the Sacred Art Business Park in Seville.

Professors Luis Suárez and Asier Santas, founders of the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra Luis Suárez and Asier Santas, founders of the Bilbao-based firm Suárez Santas Arquitectos, have been awarded the 2011Bauwelt award .

This biennial award, open to architects from all over the world, recognizes the work of young professionals in six categories: Second Nature, Under 100, Living Spaces, Public Structures, Fashion and Prototypes.

The project for which the professors have been recognized is the Parque Empresarial de Arte Sacro y Afines de Sevilla, the first work signed by their studio. The work has won the Public Structures category, in an edition that has had more than one hundred participating projects.

The submission awards will take place on January 18, 2011 at the International Fair BAU11 in Munich and the selected works will be published in a special issue of the German magazine BAUWELT.

Both Luis Suárez and Asier Santas, associates since 2004, are architects from the University of Navarra and combine their professional practice with teaching and the theoretical research . Their merits include projects such as the Soria Auditorium (at project, 2007) and the Office and Services Building for the Principality of Asturias in Gijón (first award, 2006). They have also been invited to show their work at the XI International Architecture Biennale in Venice.
