More than 20 Cervantists from 10 countries participate in the international congress "La recepción de Cervantes: huellas, recreaciones y reescrituras (siglos XVII-XXI)" (The reception of Cervantes: traces, recreations and rewritings (XVII-XXI centuries)".

Held at modality virtual, it was co-organized by the GRISO and the Unit of research "Études du contemporain en Littératures, Langues et Arts" (ECLLA) of the Jean Monnet University of Saint Étienne.

On December 20 and 21 took place, in virtual format, the international congress "The reception of Cervantes: traces, recreations and rewritings (XVII-XXI centuries)". Co-organized by the group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the School of Philosophy and Letters of the University of Navarra and the Unit of research "Études du contemporain en Littératures, Langues et Arts" (ECLLA) of the Jean Monnet University of Saint Étienne, the meeting brought together 23 Cervantists from 10 countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Spain, United States, France, Italy, Peru and Uruguay).

The congress, whose opening ceremony was chaired by the dean of the School of Philosophy and Letters Julia Pavón, was structured around 8 papers: "Theoretical issues", "Epistemological demystification and biographical mythification", "Spanish-American recreations", "Quixotic routes and cartographies", "Spanish recreations: From Realism to the Generation of 14", "Spanish recreations: from the post-war period to the present day", "European and North American recreations" and "From illustration to comics and graphic novels". Representing GRISO,Carlos Mata spoke as speaker on "Cervantes (and Shakespeare) in La leyenda del ladrón (2012), by Juan Gómez-Jurado".

In the framework of congress some Cervantine projects and works were also presented, among others, the book "Burla, burladores y burlados en Cervantes". Coordinated by Carlos Mata, member of the GRISO, it is the 66th volume of the BIADIG Collection (Library Services Áurea Digital) and it is the conference proceedings of the congress that the GRISO celebrated in 2020. The work is available in Open Access in DADUN, the Digital Academic Repository of the University.
