Juan Luis Caballero, professor of the School of Theology at the University of Navarra, has edited El celibato cristiano. A full and fruitful life. The document, published in Palabra, seeks to answer questions about the meaning of Christian celibacy, what it brings to those who live it and to the world in which it is lived, and whether it is possible to live it.

The document offers reflections on priestly celibacy and, in general, on celibacy lived by all subject people. The content is also approached from a psychological perspective: if celibacy is possible, if it is good for the person or if it can be a path to maturity and human fulfillment.

Professor Caballero points out that celibacy is for the Church a "precious pearl", despite the fact that it has been repeatedly branded as outdated and even pernicious for the human person: "Certainly, celibacy is neither selfishness nor bachelorhood, but a generous submission , in a concrete way to others".

Juan Luis Caballero is professor of New Testament at School of Theology. His work professor and research focuses primarily on the Writings of St. Paul. He is a member of committee of essay of the journal Scripta Theologica and partner of the journal Palabra. He has recently published, together with two other authors, the book Son tus huellas el camino. Reflections on vocation and freedom.
