Mikel Queralt Azcona from Navarre, graduate in Biology and researcher of the University of Navarrahas received the award for the best young communication of the I International Trufficulture congress which was held in Teruel. The award is endowed with 1,500 euros, "in addition to recognition by the best specialists in the subject", as recognized by the beneficiary.

The scientific committee valued the originality of the work presented by Queralt, 25 years old, among fifty communications of high scientific level. " Until now a similar study had not been developed, where the mesofauna was taken into account", he points out. Also, from his preliminary study - improved from his work end of the Master's Degree in Biodiversity, Landscapes and Sustainable management -, it is deduced that the biodiversity of mites in wild production is greater than in truffle plantations and species that can interact in the biological cycle of the truffle are named.

For the development of the communication, the researcher has counted with the co-direction of the professors Ana de Miguel and Mariló Moraza, of the department of Environmental Biology of the School of Sciences.
