Augusto Sarmiento, professor at the School of Theology of the University of Navarra, and Javier Escrivá, director of the Institute of Sciences for the Family (ICF), have collected in a book the interventions of Benedict XVI that expressly deal with the family. The Issue is entitled The family, transmitter of the faith. Texts of Benedict XVI and commentaries.

The documents respond to interventions made in meetings with families, audiences with organizations dedicated to the defense and promotion of the family, homilies... Each one of them is preceded by a corresponding introduction.

The book is addressed primarily to fathers and mothers of families, as financial aid in the responsibility they have in the transmission of the faith in the home.

Augusto Sarmiento is Full Professor of Moral Theology at the University. consultant of the Subcommission on the Family and Life of the Spanish Episcopallecture , and consultant of the Pontifical Council for the Family committee . In relation to marriage and the family, he is the author, among other books, of El matrimonio cristiano ( 4th ed.), El secreto del amor en el matrimonio ( 2nd ed.), and La familia cristiana en 50 claves, and co-author of Nos casamos ( with Mons. Mario Iceta), and of Enchiridion Familiae. XX Centuries of Pontifical and Conciliar Magisterium on Marriage and the Family (12 volumes).

Javier Escrivá Ivars is Full Professor of Canon Law and Derecho Eclesiástico del Estado. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation. He also serves as director of the high school of Sciences for the Family and director of Master's Degree in Marriage and Family. He is co-author of Enchiridion Familiae . XX centuries of pontifical and conciliar magisterium on marriage and the family (12 volumes).
