Dr. Jackeline Agorreta, researcher at the area of Oncology of the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, has received one of the 5 grants of the Anglo-Spanish Society, a society that promotes research through cooperation projects between Spain and the United Kingdom.

This scholarship will allow the biologist of CIMA to develop at the University of Oxford a study of the molecular mechanisms of the onset and development of lung cancer. In particular, she will analyze the involvement of proteins called chaperones.

Dr. Agorreta's work developed so far at the CIMA of the University of Navarra has focused on the establishment of cell lines from primary cultures of lung carcinomas and on the identification of biomarkers for early detection of lung cancer.
