GRISO organizes two international congresses and a summer course in August

- More than 150 people participated in the activities of the group of research Siglo de Oro of the University of Navarra.

More than 150 people have participated in the activities organized by the group of research Siglo de Oro (GRISO) of the University of Navarra during the month of August. These included two international conferences and a summer course.

"Curso Superior de Literatura Malón de Echaide" was the degree scroll of the program directed by Ignacio Arellano and dedicated on this occasion to "Teatro y fiesta en el Siglo de Oro: texto y representación". Speakers included prominent specialists such as Felipe Pedraza, Francisco Rico and Guillermo Serés. On behalf of GRISO-University of Navarra Ignacio Arellano, Enrique Duarte, Juan Manuel Escudero, Celsa Carmen García Valdés, Carlos Mata and Blanca Oteiza. This summer course, now in its thirteenth edition and held at partnership ( high school Almagro de Teatro Clásico de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha), has had more than 60 students enrolled from Spain, Portugal, Italy, Austria, Norway, India and the United States.

With the same theme of theater and fiesta, but in El Burgo de Osma (Soria), an international congress was held, co-organized by GRISO and the high school Spanish y Leonés de la language. On this occasion, the University of Navarra was represented by Ignacio Arellano, who spoke about theatrical elements in hagiographic feasts, and Carlos Mata, who analyzed a burlesque court feast. The other invited speakers were from universities in Spain, France, Italy, Poland, Colombia and the United States, and more than twenty people were registered as listeners.

congress International Young Researchers of the Golden Century (JISO 2011)

The third activity organized by the GRISO during these days has been the I International congress Jóvenes Investigadores Siglo de Oro (JISO 2011). With a perspective multidisciplinary, this meeting brought together at the University of Navarra 52 young researchers from many countries in Europe and America who analyzed aspects of literature, history and society, art, science and religiosity in the Baroque period. The opening lecture , given by Ignacio Arellano, dealt with "The technique of double reading of Baroque texts: from rhetoric to conceptualism". About twenty researchers from the University of Navarra participated in the event.
