What is meant by the hospitality industry?
There is currently a widespread understanding that confuses hospitality with the hotel industry. Although they have much in common, hospitality, as we understand it, encompasses a wide range of services. For us, it is an act of care and welcome to anyone who finds themselves in a foreign environment and needs to feel comfortable, welcome and cared for. Therefore, the vision we propose is much broader than what can be found in similar programs: it ranges from the tourism industry and hotels to co-housing, residences for the elderly, hostels for pilgrims, as well as boarding schools Education or social inclusion. Our goal is to train professionals capable of ensuring the best care, experts in meeting the fundamental needs of rest, enjoyment and safety for people of all ages and circumstances.
Where does this Master's Degree come from?
ISSA School of Applied Management, the CEICID and the School of Architecture share a common vision: to transform hospitality into a discipline that goes beyond service, making it a true act of caring for people. The program is the result of this shared vision, and from it arises a Master's Degree that prepares leaders capable of managing and designing services in the hospitality sector and that do so from a deep evaluation of people and the environment.
To which profile of student is it directed?
It is designed for people who feel that hospitality goes beyond serving a coffee or giving a good welcome. We are looking for graduates from any sector (social sciences, technical, health or experimental) who want to specialize and working professionals who see hospitality as a way to make a difference in their business, to be able to apply what they have learned in their jobs at work.
What Schools or schools are involved in organizing the program?
We count on the direct partnership of professors of the School of Architecture for the subjects of design, and of the Schools of Law and Economics for what is related to the management. Also, within the area related to the care of people and the organization of diets, we have professors from the Schools of Nursing and Pharmacy and Nutrition.
