Physicist Pedro Miguel Etxenique, award Prince of Asturias of research, gave a lecture lecture at IESE 's Madrid headquarters on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the University of Navarra's School of Sciences.
The Physics Full Professor , former student of this academic center, reflected in his discussion paper on the usefulness of the scientific knowledge in a context of globalized crisis and defended that science, creativity, knowledge and behavior are key pieces for the future.
graduate D. in Physical Sciences from the University of Navarra, Pedro Miguel Etxenique holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy and a Ph.D. in Physical Sciences from the University of Cambridge, and a Ph.D. in Physical Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since 1986 he is Full Professor of Condensed subject Physics at the University of the Basque Country and at Cambridge University. Member of the Royal Academy of the Basque language , he is the current director of the Donostia International Physics Center and president of the Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters of Eusko Ikaskuntza.
Pedro Miguel Etxenique is one of the world's great theoretical physicists. Among the numerous awards he has received for his research are the award Prince of Asturias of research Technical Science (1998), the award Max Planck of Physics, the award of Euskadi of research or the award Prince of Viana of Culture. He has also been awarded the Gold Medals of Donostia, Gipuzkoa, UPV/EHU and the Royal Spanish Society of Physics.
