Some thirty interdisciplinary experts participate in the qualitative research course of the ATLANTES Program of the ICS.

The program had as goal deepen the qualitative research to improve the attention and care of patients with advanced and terminal diseases.

Some thirty interdisciplinary experts participated in the course 'An introduction to qualitative data analysis', organized from March 10 to 12 by the ATLANTES Program of the University of Navarra. Institute for Culture and Society of the University of Navarra.

Attendees came from institutions such as St Johns Hospice of London (UK), University Hospital RWTH Aachen (Germany), the International University of Catalonia, the University Hospital Río Ortega, the Palliative Care Observatory of Castilla y León, the Hospital Complex of Navarra, the University Hospital of Bellvitge, the University School of Nursing Gimbernat, and various centers of the University of Navarra such as the Clinic and the Schools of Nursing, Communication and Education and Psychology.

The course focused on the qualitative analysis of data with the goal to introduce health professionals to this subject analysis, in addition to reviewing the basic principles and premises of qualitative research , studying the main designs of research (ethnography, phenomenology, narrative and grounded theory), learning about the main methods of data analysis and developing the necessary skills to carry out these programs of study.

Among the speakers were Carole Robinson, professor at the School of Nursing of the University of British Columbia in Canada and visiting researcher of the ATLANTES Program; Olga López de Dicastillo, professor at School of Nursing of the University of Navarra; and José Miguel Carrasco and María Arantzamendi, researchers of the ATLANTES Program.
