Dr. Fernando Corrales, director of the Proteomics, Genomics and Bioinformatics Unit and researcher of the laboratory of Hepatology Biochemistry of CIMA, has obtained the accreditation as Full Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, awarded by the National Agency of assessment of Quality and accreditation (National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation).

Fernando Corrales is graduate and holds a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Between 1993 and 1997 he worked at Prof. Sir Alan R. Fersht's laboratory . Alan R. Fershtat the Medical Research Council and the University of Cambridge (UK). In January 1997 he returned to the high school Alberto Sols Biomedical Research Center (Spain).until October 1997, when he joined the University of Navarra.

Professor of Biochemistry attached to the department of Internal Medicine of the School of Medicine, in his research activity he studies the molecular and cellular mechanisms of the progression of liver disease. In particular, he focuses on the identification of new biomarkers and therapeutic targets to slow down the development of cirrhosis and liver cancer.
