Winning debut for the veterans' tennis team
The University of Navarra veterans tennis team won the first round of the 2018 Liga de 3 against Club Tenis Pamplona C.
The University of Navarra achieved a narrow 2-1 victory after winning both singles matches and falling in the doubles. Miguel Angel Iriarte had to go to the tiebreak of the third set to beat Iñaki Arrula who had him cornered in five match balls.
Meanwhile on the other court Alberto Basurte sentenced the meeting with a 6-3 6-0 against which Carlos Fraile could do nothing. The doubles match had a less favorable outcome; the pair formed by E. Solano and C. Salvador fell against the Pamplona Tennis Club after a tight 6-2 4-6 10-5.
This weekend, the veterans of the University of Navarra will face the B Tennis Club. In addition, the team will receive next February 24 the trophy as winner of the 2017 group 2.
