A former student of the School of Theology, appointed auxiliary bishop of Portoviejo, Ecuador.
Mons. Eduardo Castillo Pino, former student of the School of Theology at the University of Navarra, has been appointed auxiliary bishop of Portoviejo (Ecuador) by Pope Benedict XVI.
Bishop Eduardo Castillo was born in 1970 in Guayaquil (Ecuador). After studying the high school program in Theology at the campus of Pamplona, he received his doctorate at the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross in Rome. He was ordained a priest in 1994.
He has been a professor and director of programs of study in the seminar Mayor de Guayaquil, as well as professor of the School of Theology for the laity of the same Archdiocese.
In October 2008, he was appointed pastor and episcopal vicar of the vicariate of the province of St. Helena.
He currently collaborates with the Ecuadorian Episcopal lecture and is the author of numerous historical, theological, spiritual and catechetical publications.
