What does the accreditation by National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation mean for the new Master's Degree University in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies?
From entrance, the National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation places us in its level of quality and recognizes that it is a well-designed Master's Degree , with a well-presented program and a consistent teaching . In addition, with this certification we become the only accredited university Master's Degree of this subject. It is true that there are other programs dedicated to management issues in companies but they are more generic, so there is not really something similar and validated in Spain.

In addition, it is backed by companies in the sector...
We have contacted more than 50 companies and they have all shown their support, either through professional associations, generics, biosimilars, biologics..., or directly, staff and institutionally. We must bear in mind that this is a very specific, dynamic, high-tech, highly regulated sector with very particular characteristics, involving many different agents. For this reason, it is very important to have the support of companies that cover practically the entire pharmaceutical and biotechnology sector. Not to mention the Madrid and Navarre associations of pharmacists.

For which profile students is this Master's Degree intended?
We are looking for people with health criteria, recent graduates in Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Veterinary..., who would like to work in a company in the sector. What the Master's Degree University in management of Pharma-Biotech Companies offers them is training complementary management and marketing. We believe that this is a profile that could be in great demand by companies -and this has been confirmed to us by all the companies we work with- and that it would combine very well the two sides of the coin: a health profile with a more commercial one in a very particular sector.

Precisely, it is a program that focuses on the training internship ...
That is, it has the particularity that it will offer internships in business full-time for 9 months. This does not imply that the student will stay in that business, but he/she will be able to prove that he/she has professional experience.

At final, it is a Master's Degree that can benefit the different realities of the pharmabiotech sector, isn't it?
In Spain we see the whole range of casuistry: there are consolidated companies, other smaller and more specific ones, but, unfortunately, there are not too many innovative startups and spin offs. And it's not that Spanish students lack entrepreneurial spirit, but rather institutional support and access to financing. Moreover, if we take into account that the university teaching is somewhat distant from the reality of the market -since the Degrees have become very generalist-, a training offer like the one we propose, which seeks much more concreteness, can be very attractive at all levels.
