The School of Sciences of the University of Navarra has signed a agreement of partnership with the four secondary schools of Education of Navarra that teach the high school diploma of research (Bi+) -IESBarañáin, IES Valle del Ebro (Tudela), IES Ribera del Arga (Peralta) and IES place de la Cruz (Pamplona)- for the development of scientific activities in its formative program of research.

In the signature of the agreement -which was held on Tuesday at the School of Sciences- Luis Montuenga, Dean of the School, and four representatives of the schools of the region participated: Luis Alberto Andía (IES Barañain), Alicia Marín (IES Valle del Ebro), Mª Jesús Gastesi (IES place del Cruz) and María José Olloqui (IES Ribera del Arga).

Luis Montuenga was very satisfied with this initiative and stressed the importance of training new generations in the scientific field. "In the School of Sciences we are committed to a scientific training of excellence and therefore we encourage both scientific thinking, the work of research and the knowledge dissemination, in order that young people are passionate about science and see it as a path both for their future and for social progress."

For his part, Luis Alberto Andía, director of IES Barañain, has also shown his satisfaction for the opportunity that this agreement means in the training of future professionals who will have in relatively early stages a real experience of research that will open new academic horizons for them. He also pointed out that, for the centers that carry out the BI+ program, in Tudela, Peralta, Pamplona and Barañáin, it is an important step in the extension of the collaborations with the university institutions located in Navarra. Finally, he thanked, on behalf of the participating public centers, the excellent reception that the program has had in the School of Sciences of the University of Navarra.

The agreement has begun to be implemented in this academic year. The School of Sciences will collaborate in the assessment of the different projects of research that are being developed in the schools acting as an external professional advisor , proposing new projects, and organizing courses of training for the academic staff of the centers. The scientific activities can be developed in the thematic classrooms and laboratories of the academic institution.
