"Bridging the digital divide is not the solution to improving academic outcomes." This was stated by Catherine L'Ecuyer, collaborator of the group Mind-Brain at Institute for Culture and Societyto El Mundo and El País on the occasion of the publication of an OECD report on students, computers and knowledge.

In this sense, L'Ecuyer argues that the indiscriminate use of technology "can be a harmful over-stimulus for students". The collaborator's conclusions are very similar to those of the new OECD report which confirms that "students who use computers very often at school have much worse results".

In addition to collaborating with the ICS, Catherine L'Ecuyer is the author of several books such as the best-seller Educating in Astonishment and the recently released Educating in Reality, where this thesis is collected. She also has the blog 'Apego y Asombro'.

El País: "Using the computer a lot at class not financial aid to student, according to the OECD"

El Mundo: "The educational crisis is one of attention"
