The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) has organized a workshop on feelings and reflexivity. It is part of the project "Action, emotions and identity. Elements for a theory of late-modern societies", funded by the Ministry of Economics and Competitiveness.
The workshop started with the discussion paper of Ana Marta Gonzalez, principal investigator of the project "Emotional culture and identity"She was the principal investigator of the ICS, which is funded by Zurich Insurance, and professor of Philosophy morals. It was entitled "A Kantian avenue towards Korsgaard's notion of "practical identity": Kant on humanity and culture".
Alejandro Vigo, researcher of the ICS and professor of Philosophy, spoke next on "Reflected perception. Kant and the reflective path towards the freedom of feeling".
The following lecture, "Emotional effects of reason in Kant. Apuntes para una lectura de las Críticas en core topic sentimental", was given at position by Nuria Sánchez Madrid, professor of Philosophy at the Complutense University of Madrid.
For her part, Mª José Callejo, also professor of Philosophy at the Complutense, focused her intervention on '"...something to be able to love". Notes on liberality, language and world in the Kantian understanding of man's humanitas".
The workshop was closed by José María Torralba, director of the high school of Anthropology and Ethics of the University, with the lecture "The feeling of respect and the structure of moral reflexivity in Kant".
