Back to Fernando Corrales ha sido nombrado presidente de la Sociedad Española de Proteómica

Fernando Corrales has been appointed president of the Spanish Proteomics Society.

The election took place during the general assembly of the company's congress , held at the University of Navarra.

Biochemist Fernando Corrales, director of the Proteomics, Genomics and Bioinformatics Unit of the research center Applied Medicine (CIMA) of the University of Navarra, has been appointed president of the Spanish Proteomics Society. The election took place during the general assembly of the society's congress , held recently in Pamplona.

Fernando Corrales is graduate in Biological Sciences (1986) and PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (1992). Between 1993 and 1996 he was scholarship recipient postdoctoral and staff contracted at the University of Cambridge (UK) and in 1997, researcher associate at the high school of Biomedical Research of the Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), in Madrid.

At the end of 1997 he joined the University of Navarra as Professor in the department of Biochemistry of the School of Sciences. His research activity is focused on the study of molecular mechanisms involved in the progression of liver diseases and on the detection of biomarkers using proteomics from high performing.

award to the basic research of the Iñigo álvarez de Toledo Renal Foundation in 2002, is a member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and of several evaluation committees of scientific entities and societies.
