Nuria Esandi is a professor at School of Nursing and states that "the training is often a challenge, in terms of how to articulate it in the day to day, in the work, in the life staff of each one, but at the same time it is an opportunity to change, to improve, to open the way to new challenges, in final to develop".

What is the contribution of training continua in Nursing ?
We are aware that the scientific and technological knowledge is constantly evolving to respond to the demands of a ch anging society. Hence, the training continuous allows nursing professionals to "keep up to date", update their knowledge, skills and attitudes, at final their skill, on which their professional practice is based. I believe that nursing professionals need to be lifelong learners in order to understand, influence and lead the necessary changes in clinical internship and health care systems.

Are nurses with training increasingly in demand from postgraduate program?
It is increasingly common for nursing professionals to face complex health-illness situations. They attend patients and families in status of vulnerability, due to an acute, chronic process that compromise different dimensions of people's lives and involve relational issues, decision making. To respond adequately to these situations, to help and guide, it is necessary to be well prepared. The training of postgraduate program allows nurses to develop an advanced profile , with knowledge expert and training to make decisions in complex situations.

From your perspective as teachers, what advice would you give to senior students?
I think it's not so much about giving advice as it is about encouraging a constant intellectual restlessness, by that I mean the desire to learn, to develop, to always be able to do better.

The training is often a challenge, in terms of how to articulate it in the day to day, in the work, in the staff life of each one, but at the same time it is an opportunity to change, to improve, to open the way to new challenges, in final to develop.

To my students attention I try to transmit a taste for learning, for living what they learn. In internship you can fall into routine, into traditions, into "doing it because it has always been done that way". This does not happen if you continue training, if you learn new ways of doing things. The knowledge stimulates you to ask yourself new questions, new alternatives and better solutions.

To what extent do the new nursing profiles (internship advanced and management) benefit the nursing professional?
The new nursing profiles, for example the advanced internship nurse, imply an expansion and specialization of theoretical, practical and research knowledge, to be applied to respond to the increasingly complex needs and demands of patients and their families, and of the health system.

Having professionals with an advanced profile of internship means having professionals capable of attending and resolving complex situations in patients and their families; accessible to the enquiry and offering support and advice to other members of the team; with capacity for analysis and initiative for change, either in the care system or in the environment of work and, of course, promoters of the research, of evidence-based nursing. The advanced internship nurse can be actively involved in the innovation of a service, working together with supervisors, nurses and managers.
