Three University researchers among the most cited in the world
Spain is one of the top ten countries according to issue of scientists on the list.
Professors Miguel Ángel Matínez-González, Jesús San Miguel and Alfredo Martínez are among the most cited researchers in the world, according to the ranking 'Highly Cited 2019 Researchers', conducted by Web of Science Group, of the business Clarivate Analytics.
The list includes a total of 6,216 scientists, selected for their influence and performance through the publication of articles, placing them in the top 1% most cited of their specialization program. Spain, with a total of 116 researchers, is among the top 10 countries according to issue of scientists on the list.
Jesús San Miguel is director of Clinical and Translational Medicine at the University of Navarra and director doctor of the Clinic. Full Professor of Hematology, has won numerous awards, including the award National Oncology or the award National of research. His scientific production is reflected in more than 800 international publications, being one of the hematologists with the greatest impact worldwide.
Miguel Ángel Martínez-González arrived at the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra in 1995, coming from Granada, to start the department of Preventive Medicine and Public Health. Since 2016 he is Full Professor visitor at Harvard University. Among other projects, he coordinates the network of researchers PREDIMED (2006-2013), the largest study on per diem expenses Mediterranean. Author of 750 scientific articles in international journals and more than 20 books.
Alfredo Martínez is Full Professor of Nutrition. Since 2017, he has also chaired the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS), the third most important body in the field of Nutrition after WHO and FAO, made up of a hundred countries. He has also published or collaborated in more than 800 scientific articles in areas such as Obesity and Nutrition.
