The signature Loewe has inaugurated a sample which reviews the history of the brand, from the work of the architect Javier Carvajal, architect of the modernization of the image of the business in the 50s, to the creations of its new creative director , the Irish Jonathan Anderson.

The newly remodeled Loewe Gallery on Paseo de Gracia in Barcelona hosts this exhibition, which wants to pay tribute to Carvajal, who was a professor at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra since 1976 and author of the remodeling of the interior design of Loewe stores. Carvajal was in charge of this project after meeting Enrique Loewe Knappe, descendant of the founder of the brand, at the Milan Triennale in 1957.

The exhibition, curated by Jorge Tárrago, professor at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra, includes the original models and photographs of one of Carvajal's most outstanding works: the Spanish Pavilion at the 1964/65 New York Fair, which were exhibited during this academic year at School of Architecture. With this work, Carvajal won the Gold Medal of the fair and the building was considered the Best Pavilion of the Fair by The American Institute of Architects.

With this sample, which will remain open until September 7, Loewe pays tribute to this architect, "for being the architect of the design of all Loewe stores of that time, including the iconic Serrano Street in Madrid, and for having designed products with the most avant-garde design of the moment," said today sources of this fashion signature .

The new creative director of Loewe, the Irish Jonathan Anderson, has been inspired precisely in the historical period of the signature starring Carvajal to launch his first collection, which is exhibited on the second floor of the Loewe Gallery in Barcelona, after being presented in Paris a few weeks ago. The School of Architecture of the University of Navarra created in 2010 the award Javier Carvajal that have received international architects such as Kenneth Frampton or Mario Botta.
