Ceit will present its solutions for the digital and sustainable transition of the steel industry at SteelTech 2023.

The technology center Ceit will showcase the latest developments for the steel industry from October 25-27 at Steel Tech, the congress and exhibition of reference letter international in Southern Europe for the steel sector.

Ceit will participate and present the latest solutions for the digital and sustainable transition of the steel industry at the congress and exhibition STEEL TECH that will be held from October 25 to 27 at the Bilbao Exibition Center (BEC) in Bilbao. The event will bring together the main key players of the entire value chain, in a space in which the transfer of knowledge, technological innovation and networking will be the key tools to promote cross-sectoral relationships and do business.

The technology center Ceit has been providing technological support to companies in the steel sector for more than 40 years. Specifically, it carries out projects aimed at expanding knowledge, promote technical advances and process improvements that contribute to the digitization of plants, as well as to the development of more advanced and sustainable services and products.

Solutions Ceit for the steel industry

Sustainable products and processes:

  • New ranges of sustainable steels: design of new compositions and Degrees to achieve the required properties and decrease the carbon footprint of the product. Including:

    • Advanced microalloyed steels: Analysis of microalloying strategy to determine its effect on product and process.

    • Stainless steels / superalloys: development for process and in-service performance solutions

  • Tailor-made experimental ingot production: Vacuum furnace casting for the production of new steels.

  • Optimization of energy and raw material use in the process: Flats, lengths, tubes and forging: new process routes, modeling and heat treatments.

    • design of rolling mill sequences: Analysis and modeling of rolling mill process parameters.

  • Zero defect production: Analysis of defects in the different forming stages and study of the route to avoid their occurrence and minimize scrap material.

  • Steels for hydrogen Economics : Study of the quality of steels during their manufacture in hydrogen combustion atmospheres and study of the embrittlement of materials used for the manufacture of hydrogen generation, transport and storage components (high pressures, cryogenics, etc.).

  • Zero defect production: Analysis of defects in the different forming stages and study of the route to avoid their occurrence and minimize scrap material.

  • Steels for hydrogen Economics : Study of the quality of steels during their manufacture in hydrogen combustion atmospheres and study of the embrittlement of materials used for the manufacture of hydrogen generation, transport and storage components (high pressures, cryogenics, etc.).

  • Artificial Intelligence applied to "zero-defect" inspection: Inspection without contact of hot and cold parts using artificial intelligence algorithms and optical image processing for:

    • Detect surface defects.

  • Collaborative and mobile robotics

    • Collaborative robots for process automation.

    • Mobile platforms for logistics applications.

  • Virtual and Augmented Reality

    • development of technologies to model the process and simulate robothuman automation scenarios (digital twin of the process).
