ICS: 72 people of 19 nationalities

Among the new features of the course, the research center will host the 2015 annual congress of the European Consortium for Humanities Institutes and Centres.

The Institute for Culture and Society (ICS), the research center at Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Navarra, will have 72 people from 19 nationalities in the 2014-2015 academic year: Argentina, Belgium, Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Kenya, Mali, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States and the Philippines.

Some of the activities that will be held this year are the third edition of the Ethics & Society Foruma program of sessions open to everyone at campus that seeks to address issues related to the improvement of life in common and society; the IV annual meeting , which will take place on November 20 at degree scroll 'Technology and Society'; and the II ICS Lecture on Humanities and Social Sciences, to be given on March 13 by Ernest Sosa, from Rutgers University (USA). International conferences and meetings, interproject seminars and seminars for doctoral students and students of Master's Degree are also planned.       

In March, ICS will host the 2015 annual congress of the European Consortium for Humanities Institutes and Centres (ECHIC), which brings together research institutes, Schools and Humanities centers from all over Europe. Previous editions were held in Porto (Portugal), Nottingham (UK), Utrecht (Netherlands) and Dublin (Ireland).

Another new feature of this course is the launch of two new cross-cutting groups, whose aim is to goal bring together specialists from all over campus - both from the ICS and from the various Schools- to carry out interdisciplinary research on topics of great importance both for a specialized public and for the general public. They will focus on 'Philosophy and palliative care' and 'Civic humanism', and will be added to the one created in the previous academic year on 'Consumption and lifestyles'.
