Un investigador del CIMA de la Universidad de Navarra, premiado por su método de neuroimagen para enfermedades neurológicas
A researcher from CIMA of the University of Navarra, awarded for its neuroimaging method for neurological diseases.
Dr. Jorge Sepulcre Bernad, researcher of CIMA of the University of Navarra, has received the award corresponding to area Health of the X 3M Foundation Awards for Innovation. His work graduate "New neuroimaging method for the study of cognitive impairment in neurological diseases with white matter involvement" was recognized. The application of this new method focuses on the study of brain damage and atrophy associated with neurodegenerative processes and aging in pathologies studied at CIMA, such as Alzheimer's disease.
According to Dr. Sepulcre, this new neuroimaging analysis makes it possible, for example, "to study and locate brain lesions associated with the deterioration of report in patients with neurodegenerative diseases. In addition, it will also be useful to monitor or see the efficacy of various treatments in the improvement of these brain alterations".
The research of this young scientist also received the Extraordinary award of doctorate from the University of Navarra, for the thesis directed by Dr. Pablo Villoslada and Dr. José Masdeu, both researchers at CIMA and physicians at the Clínica Universitaria de Navarra.
