Simon Croft, Professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, visit the high school of Tropical Health
The expert in tropical diseases will give lectures for students of Degree and Master's Degree in research and development+I of Medicines of the School of Pharmacy.
Simon Croft, Professor of Parasitology at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK) and expert in the development of vaccines and treatments against malaria, chagas or leishmaniasis, will visit the University of Navarra to give lectures to students of Degree and Master's Degree in research and development+I of the School of Pharmacy. Both lectures will also be open to researchers from high school of Tropical Health (ISTUN).
The first intervention of the expert will take place on Monday 23rd at 4:00 p.m. at classroom 10 of Libraries, under the degree scroll "International Trends in Pharmaceutical and Nutritional Sciences". The second lecture will be held on Tuesday 24 at 11:30 a.m. at the same classroom.
Professor Croft has worked for over thirty years on finding and development vaccines, both in academia and with industry. He has also collaborated on projects sponsored by WHO, the European Union, the Medical Research Council (MRC), Medicines for Malaria Venture (MMV) and the Gates Foundation.
From 2004 to 2007 Professor Croft was the first director of the Drugs for Neglected Diseases Initiative (DNDi), Geneva, and from 2008 to 2014 he was Dean at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
