The University's Mountain Club will have the participation of experts from the Science Museum during two of their outings this year.

Through a agreement of partnership between the Museum and the Mountain Club, the Museum's specialists will contribute in each outing their knowledge in different areas such as zoology, botany or geology, among others.

The first excursion will take place next Saturday 24 and will consist of a crossing between the Linza refuge and the Rincón de Belagua. The departure will be at 8 a.m. from the Comedores parking lot or from the intersection of Avenida Sancho el Fuerte with Avenida Pío XII, where it is expected to return at 20h.

The Mountain Club's coordinator , Sergio Recalde, explains what this first outing is all about:

"We will walk through the Pyrenean mountains that separate Navarra and Aragón and, specifically, we will climb La Paquiza de Linzola, a peak that offers excellent views of the western Pyrenees. This excursion will go around the reservation Integral de Aztaparreta, which is home to one of the best preserved beech and fir forests in the Pyrenees, with a high diversity of flora and fauna. We will also enter the reservation Natural Larra, which houses one of the most extensive karst formations in Europe. Its limestone rocks dotted with black pines are of incomparable beauty".

Those who wish to attend to this activity, can register through this form. The cost of the activity is 17 euros, for students of Degree (with School Insurance or federated 2018); 20 euros for employees, family members, Alumni and Senior Program and 25 euros for Friends of the University. This fee includes transportation, insurance and guides.

Any student, professor, employee and friend of the University can register to the Club free of charge at the following address link.

The second outing programmed at partnership with the Science Museum will take place on May 11 and will be a special outing for families in the Urbasa mountain range (Navarra).
