The association Universitarios por la financial aid Social (UAS), of the University of Navarra, launched various activities on the occasion of its traditional 'Christmas Campaign'. This year, as part of the 'Campaña del kilo', they collected 717 kilos of food, mainly vegetables and rice, which will be distributed among the neediest families.

The results have been positive this year. The Food Bank of Navarra is delighted to receive all that amount of food. That's 700 kilos of solidarity," said UAS coordinator Teresa Martín.

The volunteers also held a Christmas card contest among the children of the University Clinic of the University of Navarra. They also participated in the carol competition of the academic center with disabled people from the Valle del Roncal Center. In addition, other members performed a play for the Santa María Center for the mentally handicapped.

On the other hand, in the high school Mayor Belagua Fase I, a Christmas Tree of Solidarity was organized, in which the residents placed gifts for the hospitalized children of the University Clinic. Meanwhile, the students of the high school Mayor Olabidea high school Mayor organized a fund-raiser for a project in the Ivory Coast and sang Christmas carols for the Little Sisters of the Poor.

Other activities that are part of the UAS Christmas campaign include a soccer match with prison inmates and a Three Kings parade on January 5 with the elderly of the Padre Menni psychogeriatric home.
