This equipment is complementary to the 6 cytometers already available in the Flow Cytometry platform of the University of Navarra, thus increasing the sample processing capacity and allowing the rethinking of research projects that until now were unfeasible in single-cells.

The MoFlo Astrios cell separator is a cell separator with:

• 5 lasers

• 17 detectors with an acquisition capacity of up to 70,000 cells/s

• Simultaneous separation of 6 different cell populations

• Air laser impact system

• Allows isolation of cells in different supports: plates (6, 12, 24, 96, 384 or 1536 wells), tubes (1.5, 5 or 15 ml) or slides.

• Equipped with a laminar flow cabinet and an aerosol evacuation system with EPA filter, allowing cells to be separated in total sterility and providing biosafety level (BSL) 2.

• Resolves particles (spheres and cells) down to 0,2 µm

All these features of the MoFlo Astrios cell separator improve the viability of the separated cells for further programs of study cell culture, genomics, transcriptomics in single-cells.

The CytoFLEX cytometer is a flow cytometer equipped with 6 lasers (488 nm, 638 nm, 405 nm, 355 nm, 561 nm, 808 nm), which allows to increase the issue of markers per cell increasing the detection of up to 21 parameters simultaneously with high sensitivity. This equipment incorporates an SSC detector in the violet laser, which allows the analysis of smaller particles and thus opens flow cytometry to the field of microvesicles.
