Identity and future of the School Philosophy Letters in a roundtable the occasion of its 70th anniversary

The School Philosophy Letters at the University of Navarra held a roundtable degree scroll roundtable mark its 70th anniversary under the degree scroll Shared degree scroll : The Present and Future of Philosophy Letters. degree scroll The meeting, moderated by Álvaro Balibrea, General Manager the University and former student the School, featured presentations by professors Lourdes Flamarique and Rosalía Baena.
During the session, they offered a joint reflection on the School identity, the elements that remain from its origins, and the changes it has undergone over seven decades. Both agreed that a passion for knowledge and the close relationship between teachers and students remain essential and indispensable features.
Professor Baena pointed out that, despite changes in curricula and teaching formats over time, "there remains a deep conviction in the value of what we do," as well as a dedication to study and research, characteristic of the Humanities. In her speech, she also defended the irreplaceable nature of the School Philosophy Letters within the University as a whole and recalled the need to overcome stereotypes and reductionist perceptions of programs of study .
For her part, Professor Flamarique highlighted the educational style that has historically characterized the School: a way of teaching and researching that integrates all students and encourages intellectual dialogue. Referring to the early days, she also recalled the international outlook of many of the professors who shaped the School beginnings School its openness to international academic trends and debates, traits that, she said, remain present today.
The roundtable also roundtable some of the current challenges facing the Humanities, such as the visibility of research its social impact, adaptation to new work dynamics, and the need to better communicate the value of knowledge .
