The Guidance and Well-being Unit – Compass has launched a series of three sessions aimed at doctorate students with the goal offering tools to care for psychological well-being during a particularly demanding academic stage. The sessions have been developed in the College of Sciences and Humanities and will be completed with a third session in San Sebastián, aimed at the School of Engineering.
The workshop was given by Leyre San Martín, professor at the School Education Psychology and team member Compass, and focused on a core topic well-being during the doctorate: the relational dynamics between the PhD student their thesis director thesis From a approach , the work seek to evaluate the performance of either party, but rather to understand how interaction styles are configured and how to favor those dynamics that contribute to stability, clarity, and well-being.
Throughout the session, some characteristics of this relationship were analyzed: its prolonged duration, interdependence in the work, the existence of mutual expectations, and the decisive role of communication. This initiative is part of Compass' commitment to training and support for the university community, offering specific resources for groups with particular challenges, such as doctorate students.
