A research project research the field of school nursing, involving researchers from the University of Navarra School Nursing, has been selected as one of the finalists for the 2025 awards organized by the Spanishcommittee Nursingcommittee (CGE).

The initiative, entitled "Transcultural Adaptation for the Spanish Context of the School Nursing Practice for the 21st Century Framework," was presented in the Community and Social Field category. Of the 171 projects registered nationwide, the work chosen among the 16 finalists and ranked among the top five in Spain in its category. Although it did not receive a cash prize in this edition, its selection as a finalist is an important recognition of the quality and relevance of the proposal.

A framework reference letter strengthen school nursing in Spain

School nursing requires a approach that takes into account the complexity and uniqueness of work professionals in this field. The Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice™, developed by the National Association of School Nurses, was designed to guide the practice of school nursing, providing a conceptual structure that allows this internship to be described, organized, and strengthened.

To this end, the study first considers the translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the Framework for 21st Century School Nursing Practice™. The project registered by Dr. Natividad López Langa, president of AMECE and principal investigator, together with Dr. Paola Magalhães, researcher and professor at the School Nursing - University of Navarra and member of the AMECE board , and Dr. Maider Belintxon, director of School department Community and Maternal-Child Nursing School also a member of the association board .

The team is completed by researcher Alba Soilán, Itziar Ferragud, Itziar Hoyos, and Laura Rodríguez, members of the AMECE board .
