Evangeline Perón, from high school Ignacio high school ; Leyre Amilivia, from high school Ignacio high school ; Laura Morató, from IES Basoko; and Ruth Ezquerro, from IES Mendillorri, have won the local round of the 15th Philosophy Olympiad in modality essay, photography, modality moral dilemmas modality , as well as the International Olympiad, respectively.
submission competition—in which 160 students from the 3rd and 4th grades of ESO and the 1st and 2nd grades of high school diploma 17 schools in Navarre participated—took place at the School Philosophy Letters at the University of Navarra. The winners will represent the Autonomous Community of Navarre at the Spanish Philosophy Olympiad, to be held April 17–19 in Ciudad Real.
In the essay modality Telma Gastón from IES place la Cruz (2nd award) and Teresa Garbayo from high school Redín high school (3rd award) were essay awarded prizes. In addition, honorable mentions were awarded to Irune Fernández González (IES Ibaialde), Gabriel De Souza (high school Calasanzhigh school ), and Lola Morantinos (IES Navarro Villoslada).
In the philosophical photography category, the second award was awarded award Oihane Gorospe (high school Calasanzhigh school ) and the third award Sara Sicilia (IES Eunate). In the moral dilemmas category, Gabriela Stanimirava (IES Benjamín de Tudela) received the second award.
The Olympiad of Philosophy seeks to encourage reflection, critical thinking and dialogue in young people, as well as to consolidate and complement the contents of philosophical subjects. It also has as goal to establish links between the teachers of Philosophy of Navarra and to create spaces of communication between the teaching upper and secondary schools. It has the partnership of Kukuxumusu, the publishing house Chair , Librerías Troa, the department of Education of the Government of Navarra, and the high school Oficial de Doctores y Licenciados de Navarra.
