Judicial dialogues subject asylum and migration in the EU

On Thursday, March 12, the roundtable Judicial Dialogues subject EU Asylum and Migration roundtable took place, organized by the Chair MonnetChair at the University of Navarra, in partnership the Fundamental Rights group the European Law Institute. The meeting at the University of Navarra’s Madrid campus ten judges from Spain and other European Union member states, including the Spanish Supreme Court and the Portuguese Supreme Court, as well as the National High Court, Italy, Slovenia, and the Court of Justice of the European Union.

The purpose of meeting the exchange ideas and discussion judges from the Member States—who act as judges of the European Union when interpreting and applying Union law—within the framework EU Asylum and Migration Pact, which is set to enter into force in the middle of this year.

Among other issues, the judges addressed matters related to legal appeals subject international protection subject Spain, the temporary protection of Ukrainians in the European Union and their access to asylum procedures, as well as the new rules and regulations subject interim measures in relation to legal appeals subject asylum and migration, and with regard to safe third countries.

The meeting part of the activities organized by the Chair Monnet Chair in Asylum and Migration at the University of Navarra, held by María Teresa Gil Bazo, a professor of international law and international relations.
