Daniel Fos, Full Professor at the University, Has Passed Away

Daniel Fos Galve, a member of the first graduating class of the University of Navarra’s School of Pharmacy and a former professor and Associate Dean the university, has passed away in Pamplona at the age of 81. 

Born in Antella (Valencia) on March 4, 1945, he earned his bachelor’s degree in 1969 and defended his thesis in 1976 under the supervision of Félix Álvarez de la Vega. He completed his training specialization hospital pharmacy and in the analysis and control of medicines and drugs. 

In the early 1970s, he began his career professor Compounding Pharmacy, a role he held for decades with a steadfast commitment to teaching research. He also collaborated with the hospital area at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. He was appointed Chair 1983. After a brief stint at the universities of Granada and Seville, he returned to Pamplona and served as Full Professor 1984 to 1997.

In addition to her work professor researcher, she held various management positions management the School of Pharmacy: she served as Associate Dean 1985–1989), director department Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Technology 1987–1994), and director doctoral program Biopharmacy, Pharmacology, and Drug Quality” (1986–1997). She received the Silver Medal from the University of Navarra in 1995. 

His research focused on the biopharmaceutical and pharmacokinetic characterization of the drug and its relationship to therapeutic response. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Manchester under the supervision of Professor Malcolm Rowland, where he delved deeper into the integration of pharmacokinetics and patient pathophysiology. The author of more than 80 scientific publications, he has supervised over 30 thesis , licentiate degree Master's Degree thesis Master's Degree development research development .
