president, María Iraburu, has appointed Carmen Urpí as associate dean of faculty in the School of Education , and Psychology.
Carmen Urpí holds a Bachelor of Arts degree, as well as a master’s degree and a Ph.D. (2000) in Education from the University. She is a tenured professor of Theory and History of the Education in the School of Education and Psychology. From August 2023 to August 2026, she served as associate dean for student affairs.
She has focused her research on the Education aesthetic, artistic, and cultural heritage, from an approach that integrates various professional contexts, with her specialization program being the plastic, visual, and audiovisual arts. She is the coordinator of the group for “ research : Voices of Innovation and Creativity in the Education and Society” (VOICES). She is a member of the Ibero-American Society of Social Pedagogy (SIPS) and the International Center for Home Education Research. She has served as a visiting scholar at the universities of Cambridge, Durham, Milan, and Piura.
