The theologian Fermín Labarga receives the national award Inmaculada 2012
The committee General de Hermandades y Cofradías de la Archidiócesis de Barcelona distinguished the professor for his support to Holy Week.
Fermín Labarga, professor of the School of Theology of the University of Navarra, has received the nationalaward Inmaculada 2012 awarded by the committee General de Hermandades y Cofradías de la Archidiócesis de Barcelona. The award distinguishes people or institutions that stand out for their support to Holy Week.
Professor Labarga is director of the Secretariat of Brotherhoods and Confraternities of the diocese of Calahorra and La Calzada-Logroño, as well as professor and researcher in the campus of Pamplona. The award recognizes his work of study and diffusion of the Holy Week nationally and internationally, which has led him to be considered as one of the best specialists in popular religiosity.
Present at the ceremony were Josep Lluís Cleries i González, councilor of Social Welfare and Family of the Generalitat de Catalunya; Raimond Blasi i Navarro, councilor of Commerce of the City Council of Barcelona; and the president of the committee General de Hermandades y Cofradías de la Archidiócesis de Barcelona, Manuel Zamora.
