"As in the case of South Africa, a country we visited in March this year, the fundamental goal was to share the experience accumulated during the implementation of the MODERNA Plan and to analyze how this experience could be transferred to the Kenyan case," explained Pedro Mendi.

Advising on the implementation of the Kenya 2030 Plan

"The Kenyan context is interesting," commented Pedro Mendi, "since the country is immersed in a decentralization process towards counties - which are assimilated to Spanish provinces. The goal is that each county has its own regional development strategy".

During the workshop partnership agreements between MODERNA, Strahmore University, the University of Navarra, the Government of Kenya and committee of development Economic and Social were discussed in order to advise on the implementation of the Kenya 2030 Plan.

The next goal within this project of research is the signature of a partnership agreement with one of the institutions represented in the workshop to establish a stable channel of communication and cooperation, which will allow the relationship to continue in the future.

"In this sense, we have the advantage of having a local partner , Strathmore Business School, which will allow a more fluid communication with workshop attendees and the institutions they represent," concluded Pedro Mendi.
