Dr. César Viteri Torres, neurologist of the Clínica Universidad de Navarrahas been appointed president of the Society of Neurology of Navarra (SNN). The specialist will occupy the position for the next four years. Until now, César Viteri was vice-president of the medical institution and replaces Dr. Purificación de Castro, also a specialist and deputy director of the Clinic's Neurology department , as president.

According to its statutes, the fundamental aim of the Society is promote the development of Neurology in Navarra. To achieve its goals and fulfill its objectives, the SNN may coordinate its efforts with other national or foreign neurological societies existing or to be created in the future and whose purposes include the study of Neurology. It promotes educational and informative activities and, in general, the promotion of Neurology. Several activities are carried out annually, such as the annual meeting or a monographic workshop on relevant topics for the neurologist's continuous training .

Dr. Viteri's main focus is the study and treatment of refractory epilepsy and sleep disorders. Specifically, he is the coordinator of the Epilepsy Unit of the Clinic and a member of its Sleep Unit. He is also Associate Professor of Neurology at the School of Medicine of the University of Navarra.
