Ana Zúñiga, award TC/12 to the best thesis of doctorate

The thesis of Ana Zúñiga, professor and researcher of the School from Education and Psychologyhas been recognized with the TC/12 to the best thesis of doctorate for her work 'Mujer y poder en el teatro español del Siglo de Oro: la figura de la reina' (Women and power in the Spanish theater of the Golden Age: the figure of the queen).

This award has its origin in a macro project of research on the Spanish classical theater, selected by the ministerial program Consolider, spearhead of the National Plan of research and development+i, which seeks to place the Spanish classical theater, fundamental core of the Hispanic cultural heritage, in the new global network of cultural references.

Women and power in the Spanish theater of the Golden Age: the figure of the queen' analyzes the character of the powerful woman in 295 golden plays, in which 226 figures appear: 206 queens and 20 princesses and infantas.

Ana Zúñiga, who defended her thesis in the last academic year, received grade A cum laude unanimously from the grade panel. Since this year she is professor and researcher at the new School of Education and Psychology at the University of Navarra, where she has received her training academic degree as a philologist.
