The NCID of the University of Navarra, one of the best think tanks in the world for the third year in a row

It is the only Spanish center present in the category of the best centers affiliated to a university in the ranking of the University of Pennsylvania (USA).

The Navarra Center for International Development (NCID) is one of the best thinktanks in the world for the third consecutive year according to the 2017 Global Go To Think Tank Index Report prepared by the University of Pennsylvania (USA).

The NCID, which belongs to the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) of the University of Navarra, is the only Spanish center in the category of the best think tanks affiliated to a university, where it ranks 58th out of 90.

high school This ranking confirms the international prestige of the Navarra center, which is placed above other institutions linked to prestigious universities such as Princeton (USA), Harvard (USA), Oxford (UK) or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology - MIT (USA).

For the ranking, which the University of Pennsylvania has been carrying out since 2007, 7,815 think tanks have been analyzed , of which 1,931 are from North America and 1,770 from Europe. More than 7,500 journalists, legislators, public and private sponsors and other specialists also participated.

The NCID is an interdisciplinary research team made up of economists, urban planners, journalists and sociologists. Its research aims to goal promote viable solutions to situations of extreme poverty in developing countries development in Africa, Asia and Latin America. It is currently developing projects in several countries in sub-Saharan Africa, as well as in India and Bolivia.

One of the center's strategies is to study those nations or regions where particular policies have been highly successful in alleviating poverty among a population. Through the applied research , the NCID seeks to generate ideas that solve chronic social problems associated with poverty, such as corruption and violence, among others.

Likewise, in the last year, the center has decided to expand its areas of development in order to, in addition to making a assessment of the impact of policies and programs, cover programs of study about the growing urbanism in African cities or the democratic development in sub-Saharan Africa.
