Absence, represented through objects and empty spaces that were once inhabited, is the central focus of the exhibition It only exists if there is someone to observe itwhich can be visited at the Pamplona Citadel until June. It is the winning project of the second municipal call Re-visiones/Nuevas miradas a la Colección de Arte Contemporáneo del Ayuntamiento de Pamplona, made by Luisa Fernanda Lindo and Sergio Jair Méndez, students of the 2018/2019 promotion of the Master in Curatorial Studies of the Museum.

The exhibition, composed of thirty works, including sculptures, photographs, paintings, installations, videos and mixed media, reflects on the human being, focusing on the notion of absence. It seeks to generate questions about how technology, social networks and media misinformation have impacted the interrelationship between people and their environment.

Works by Helena Almeida, Elssie Ansareo, Patxi Araujo, Ignacio Ardanaz, Elizabeth Aro, Ariane Artika, Amaia Gracia Azqueta, Miriam Bäckström, Jose Manuel Ballester, Rosa Brun, Miren Doiz, Joan Fontcuberta, Teresa Moro, Javier Muro, David Rodriguez Caballero, among other artists, can be seen.

The exhibition is complemented by three round tables with international speakers under the titles Body, territory and dehumanization; Body politics; and The visible and the invisible: gender and identity. It also includes a cycle of three films made by the North American Godfrey Reggio, specifically the films that make up his Qatsi trilogy. There will also be guided tours and family workshops.
