More than 300 people participate in the II Cycle "Training to understand disability".

The President, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, states that "it is important to understand that people have limitations and imperfections".

More than 300 people have participated in the II Cycle 'Training to understand disability' organized by Tantakathe Solidarity Time Bank of the University of Navarra. The course, held during the four Mondays of February, was aimed at students, professors and employees of the academic center, as well as associations and citizens of Pamplona who serve people with disabilities.

The last session of the series offered a look at disability from a family perspective. It was given by Felisa Peralta, full professor at department of Education of the University of Navarra, who emphasized the need for people with disabilities to make mistakes and learn from them. "We must allow them to assume the dignity of risk, because otherwise we are preventing them from having a full life," she said.

The President, Alfonso Sánchez-Tabernero, closed the cycle and affirmed that these conference have been "vital" to make us realize that the important thing is "to understand that people are complex, we have limitations and imperfections". He also explained that "sometimes in society we aspire to a perfect world, without errors or defects, and that is inhuman and unnatural".

Throughout these conference four perspectives on disability have been offered: from the field of law, Education, medicine and family. The following speakers took part in the event: Rafael de Lorenzo, professor of Labor Law and University Secretary of the committee General of the ONCE; José Iribas, counselor of Education of the Government of Navarra; Rocío Sánchez-Carpintero, specialist in Neuropediatrics of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra; and Felisa Peralta, professor of department of Education of the academic center.
