The University reinforces its area de development

The University of Navarra has announced the expansion of its development Service with the incorporation of two new deputy directors: Miriam de Carlos, in the area of Communication and Marketing; and Antonio María Fernández, in Project Management. This expansion is aimed at goal to boost the growth of area at development, with special emphasis on the financing of new projects such as the BIOMA Center and scholarships for talented students who lack the necessary resources to study at campus.
The Service of development of the University of Navarra, in addition to carrying out direct tasks of attracting donations and formalizing corporate partnership agreements, acts as a service center for other fundraising units of the institution and the different Schools.
The mission statement of this Service, says its director, Javier Ortega, is to work to obtain resources to finance strategic projects of the University and to contribute its knowledge and experience in the management of such aid."The funds obtained make it possible to carry out a pioneering research , hire staff researcher , grant scholarships to students and develop the necessary infrastructures for research and teaching ".
It is important to remember that while income from enrollment helps to fund teaching, new buildings, student scholarships, scholarships from research and specific research projects depend on the generosity of individual donors, companies and institutions, and the corresponding calls for proposals.
Currently, the University of Navarra has more than 7,000 donors, ranging from large corporations and foundations that support BIOMA Center to numerous small donors who contribute to the Alumni Scholarships fund.
The new structure of the Service of development is configured as follows:
- Javier Ortega, Director
- Mapi Ibiricu, General Manager
- Miriam de Carlos, Deputy Director, who manages the Communication and Marketing area
- Antonio María Fernández, Deputy Director, who takes over as Project Manager.
For the University's Director of Corporate development , Isabel Olloqui, on whom this area depends, "the strengthening of this service is a crucial step to ensure the sustainable growth and continued development of the institution, allowing more students and projects to benefit from the resources and support needed to move forward".
