Closing Ceremony of the XIII Edition of the European Master's Degree in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism
22 students of 14 nationalities make up the XIII EMENU graduating class

On September 13, the closing ceremony of the Master's Degree European University in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism of the School of Pharmacy and Nutrition was held at the auditorium of the Sciences Building of the University of Navarra. The event was chaired by the Dean of the School, Adela López de Cerain; the director of the Master's Degree, Alfredo J. Martínez and José Ignacio Herrero, specialist of the Hepatology Unit of the department of Internal Medicine of the University of Navarra. Clínica Universidad de Navarrawho gave the keynote lecture.
After the opening of the event and the guest's presentation , Dr. José Ignacio Herrero gave his lecture on "non-alcoholic fatty liver disease". After explaining the high prevalence of this disease and the evolution towards other cardiovascular and renal diseases, the professor cited some of the factors that influence its development such as "dietary, metabolic, genetic, ethnic, environmental, social, etc. factors".
Finally, she provided information about the most effective treatments that reduce the effects of this disease, such as a balanced per diem expenses and healthy lifestyle habits. For her part, Adela López de Cerain emphasized that "from now on you are Alumni of the University of Navarra and our doors are open to you for whatever you need".
After the presentation of graduation sashes and submission of diplomas, Adriana Pérez and Clara Camí, delegates of the promotion, reviewed the experiences lived during the Master's Degree and thanked the School, teachers and administrative office for all the financial aid and attentions received during the same.
In this 13th edition, the diversity of universities from which our students come from stood out. The students came from 14 different universities and degrees such as Nutrition, Pharmacy, Nursing or Food Industry Engineering. This has given a very enriching variety to this graduating class.
