The University celebrates Solidariun, its solidarity fair, with the participation of about 50 NGOs and more than 1,000 people.

This year's edition focused on social sustainability.

A total of 46 NGOs and social entities from Navarra have been given quotation in Solidariun, the solidarity fair of the University of Navarra, to publicize their work to the university community. The topic of this edition has been the social sustainability.

During the morning, more than 1000 people, including students, teachers, employees and other citizens had the opportunity to visit the various stands to find out how to collaborate with the needs of our environment. The workshop was also an opportunity to discuss issues related to exclusion, disability, loneliness, inequality, poverty or vulnerability, through the testimony of entities such as Ikaskide, Red Cross, ANFAS and the Secretariat for Migration, Refugees and Trafficking.

Likewise, during the event, the volunteers and centers that last year contributed in a special way to the different projects with which Tantaka, the Solidarity Time Bank of the University of Navarra, collaborates , were recognized. In the category of Junior Volunteer, Brenda Loroña, a 3rd year student of International Relations and History, was awarded "for her solidarity and constant willingness, her contribution to the dissemination of the needs of volunteer activities and her participation in numerous projects", highlighted the jury. 

Cristina Lasaosa, a University professional, was recognized in the Senior Volunteer category "for her B commitment to volunteer activities, inspiring others". For its part, the School of Economics has been awarded "for its constant dedication to the different projects of Tantaka and for its exemplary effort to promote volunteer activities among its teachers and students". The award has been collected by María Goñi, General Manager of the School. The file General of the University has also received recognition for its partnership with Tantaka since its beginnings, 11 years ago, "welcoming people with disabilities for internships and for promote an accessible and inclusive environment". José María Morell attended on behalf of the team to receive the award.


 

This was followed by the presentation of the "Tantaka Song", the work of María Teresa Pardo, a graduate of the School of Engineering-Tecnun of the University of Navarra, and the screening of the video clip, starring people with disabilities. The workshop ended with a solidarity paella, whose benefits will go to the KDT Foundation of Nigeria and the Church in need in that country.
