The University and ADItech participate in BioSpain 2014, the seventh international biotechnology congress
The research centers of the academic center and the technology corporation present their capabilities to the international biotechnology industry.
The University of Navarra and its centers of research participate together with the technological corporation ADItech in BioSpain 2014. This is the seventh international biotechnology meeting , which is held at the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Galicia, in Santiago de Compostela.
BioSpain is organized by ASEBIO (association Spanish Biocompanies) and co-organized by several local institutions under the direction of the Xunta de Galicia. It is the most important biotechnology event at national level and the sixth at international level.
The congress is structured into a trade show, a partnering event, an investor forum, plenary sessions, conferences on various topics with national and international speakers, and a forum at employment and training.
This year it brings together 2,000 participants and 800 companies and institutions from 40 countries, including Portugal, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, Colombia, Mexico, Russia and India.
The University of Navarra and its centers at research (research center in Nutrition, Center for Biomedical Engineering, research center Applied Medical -CIMA-, Clínica Universidad de Navarra and the Unit of development del medicamento) will participate with a delegation of more than ten people under their own stand. There they will exhibit their capabilities in subject biotechnology together with ADItech and its different centers. goal Both institutions have organized an event for today, Thursday, which has as its main objective the search for business opportunities in biotechnology.
Biomedical Engineering CentreThe new Center for Biomedical Engineering (CBIO) of the University of Navarra has chosen this event to present its capabilities to the business sector. It is worth mentioning, among them, its innovative platform for the finding of mechanisms of action of molecules; or for the search of new indications for drugs that are in advanced phases of development or on the market. The added value of this in silico technology is the reduction of risks in early stages of development of drugs and the associated costs.
BioSpain has become the great platform of presentation of Spanish biotechnology at international level, allowing to satisfy the commercial, academic and informative needs of the sector. For the University of Navarra, the main objective of goal of congress is to present itself as an institution with research capacity in this field. In this way, it positions itself as a suitable partner for companies in the sector that wish to develop their research projects at the University.
