Professor María Arantzamendi, director of the Master's Degree in Palliative Care Nursing, explains in the new specialized newspaper Dicen.es the competitive aspects of the postgraduate program, the only one in Spain to offer the specialization in Palliative Care Nursing, at partnership with the Hospital Centro de Cuidados Laguna, in Madrid.

As the expert recalls during the interview, "a palliative care program could not function without nurses. Nurses bring their own vision that is different from that of physicians and other professionals. In this sense, she stresses that there is still a need for nurses specifically trained in this field, "who are in charge of building standards of care that serve as reference letter for everyone".

"It would also be appropriate to promote the participation in multidisciplinary teams of research where nurses can contribute their vision and knowledge. Finally, I would highlight access to doctorate programs for those nurses who have this vocation", concludes Dr. Arantzamendi.
