The School celebrates the II workshop on Inclusion and the Roma community.
This is its second consecutive year, organized by the PIUNA team, at partnership with the Gaz Kaló Foundation.
The School of Education and Psychology of the University of Navarra held on March 23rd and 24th, the "II workshop on Inclusion and Roma community. The educational system: a place to be, learn and participate". This workshop was organized by the PIUNA team ( "The transition to adulthood of young people from the Roma community of Navarra"), in partnership with the Gaz Kaló Foundation.
The event included a part of training for professionals (counselors, social workers, teachers, etc) and students of the Degrees of Education and Psychology. Another part was directed to young gypsies of the community of Navarra and their families.
Ruben Fuertes and Antonio Jiménez from CPEIP Alfonso X el Sabio (San Adrián), Miguel Ángel Franconetti from the Pere Closa Foundation (Catalonia) and Mª Carmen Filigrana from association de Mujeres Gitanas Universitarias de Andalucía (AMURADI), were the speakers at the first workshop where they presented successful experiences related to the stages of Education primary, secondary and university environments.
On the other hand, on the 24th, the workshop focused on a series of dynamics for young people, with which they worked on self-determination skills, such as decision making, work in teams, goal setting, etc. Through the game, the young people put on internship some of the skills under study at project of research (How do they face a challenge? How do they solve problems? How do they make choices? How do they manage frustration?).
To end the event, Bruno & Lorena, young gypsy artists, performed at partnership , who put the finishing touch to a meeting that showed once again that, working all together, inclusion is possible.
