Marian Zulet and Norberto Aguirre obtain the accreditation of the National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation as full professors in the area of Health Sciences.

The two professors teach teaching at the School of Pharmacy of the University of Navarra.

Marian Zulet is a professor at School of Pharmacy since 1999 and coordinator of the Master's Degree European University in Food, Nutrition and Metabolism (E-MENU). Her activity professor and research is focused on the area of Nutrition and Bromatology that she has been carrying out in the department of Food Sciences, Physiology and Toxicology since 1993. His doctoral thesis was awarded by the Royal Academy of Pharmacy (1998).

After a postdoctoral stay at the University of Ulm (Germany) she joined the line of research 'Nutrition, Obesity and Health' of department, where she has participated as a collaborator of research in several projects funded by various regional, national and European entities, one of them Hispano-Brazilian. goal Currently, she is the principal investigator of a project that aims to reduce the Metabolic Syndrome in Navarra, funded by the Government of Navarra.

She is a member of the Scientific committee of the high school of Food Sciences (ICAUN) where her main work is the coordination of programs of study of nutritional intervention with companies of the food sector and technological centers, one of them financed by the department of Industry of the Government of Navarra and the European Regional Fund development , which involves 13 companies from Navarra and 4 technological centers.

As for the scientific production derived from these years, she has co-authored 12 book chapters, more than 30 indexed scientific publications and 45 communications in congresses. The projects carried out have allowed her to co-direct 2 doctoral thesis and 15 memoirs of research. As for the management, she has been assistant to the the Office of Student Affairs of the School of Pharmacy.

Norberto Aguirre
For his part, Professor Norberto Aguirre, Associate Dean of Office of Academic Affairs of the School of Pharmacy, has obtained the accreditation as Senior Associate Professor in Pharmacology in the area of Health Sciences, granted by the National Agency of assessment of the Quality and accreditation (National Agency for Assessment of Quality and Accreditation).

Aguirre is graduate and holds a PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Navarra (1996). Since then, he has been teaching Pharmacology in the undergraduate courses of the Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine, as well as in the Master's Degree research and development +i of Medicines and in the Master's Degree of Neuroscience and Cognition. In addition, he is manager of doctoral course "Drug Dependence". During his programs of study from doctorate to his postdoctoral stay at the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience of Cornell University (New York), his activity was focused on the study of the mechanisms involved in the neurochemical deficits produced by the amphetamine derivative MDMA or 'ecstasy'. 

Since then, his research activity has expanded to the study of the molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in neuronal death in neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson's or Huntington's disease. In particular, he focuses on the pharmacological modulation -of different intracellular signaling pathways as possible therapeutic targets- to slow down the evolution of these diseases.

Dr. Aguirre belongs to the network of Addictive Disorders, has participated as researcher partner in two European projects and as researcher principal in five other research projects financed in calls of the National Plan and public calls of the Autonomous Community of Navarra.

Norberto Aguirre has also directed five doctoral thesis , three of which have received the Extraordinary award of doctorate, awarded by the School of Pharmacy, and more than 30 scientific articles in international journals.
